William Prystasz, 87 of Calumet City, IL passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2009. He is survived by his daughters: Arlene (Mike) Tortorello of Tinley Park, IL and Anita (Joe) Brown of Munster, IN; grandchildren: Steven and Elizabeth Tortorello, Carolyn, Cristina and Jacob Brown; sister Anne Prystasz of Naples, FL; preceded in death by his wife: LaVerne Prystasz. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, February 2, 2009 at 10:30 AM from St. Maria Goretti Church, 500 Northgate Dr. Dyer, IN. with Fr. Charles Niblick officiating; Interment: Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip, IL. Visitation will be on Sunday from 12:00-5:00 PM at Kish Funeral Home 10000 Calumet Ave. (next to Fitness Pointe) Munster, IN. and Monday from 10:00-10:30 AM at the church. A World War II veteran, he served with the 411th Anti-Aircraft Artillery, landing on Utah Beach on June 9, 1944 and received many honors, including the French Croix de Guerre with Silver Gilt Star.
