William W. Burke, 82, of Lansing, IL passed away on Monday, July 18, 2016. Loving husband for 59 years of Angela (nee Freudinger); proud father of Michael (Ada), William (Susan) and James (Michaeline); cherished grandfather of Mallory, Michael (Samantha), William (Nancy), Amelia and Steven; also survived by Carolyn Riddle; many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 21, 2016 from 3:00-8:00 pm at Kish Funeral Home, 10000 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN and at Our Lady of Knock Church on Friday from 9:00-10:00 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 22, 2016 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Knock Church, 501 163rd St. Calumet City, IL. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL. William was a founding parishioner of Our Lady of Knock Church and a member of the Lansing Knights of Columbus. He retired from Jay’s Potato Chips. He served with the U.S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion Post 330 in Calumet City, who will post colors on Thursday at 7:00 pm and hold Military Honors on Friday at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Our Lady of Knock Church in his memory would be appreciated.
