Wilma J. Skopiec, 82 years young, of Griffith, IN formerly of Calumet City, IL passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2013. She is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Edward Skopiec; sisters, Dorothy Owens, Effie (late Hank) Yamka; sisters-in-law, Joan (late James) Fanta, Sophie (late Stephen) Blahunka, Adoracion (late Joseph) Skopiec and Victoria (late Don) Cleland; brother-in-law, Matthew (late Eleanor) Skopiec; several loving nieces and nephews; preceded in death by her sisters, Gladys (late Bob) Carroll, Ruth (late Leonard) Maciejewski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary Church, 525 N. Broad St. Griffith, IN. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 AM at the church. Wilma graduated from St. Victor Grade School in Calumet City, IL and T.F. North High School Class of 1950. She retired from American Maize after many years of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions to a charity of your choice in her memory would be appreciated.
